🧩 Evaluation Criteria


Mandatory Theme

All proposals must focus on the theme: “AI Solutions for Arab Regional Challenges.”
Each Proposal should demonstrate how Artificial Intelligence can be applied to solve real problems affecting Arab societies, economies, and governments.


Challenge Areas

Proposals should address at least one of the following key challenge domains:

  1. Sustainable Development
    Water scarcity, renewable energy, smart agriculture, and climate resilience.
  2. Health & Society
    Healthcare accessibility, disease prevention, Arabic language processing, and digital education.
  3. Economy & Infrastructure
    Smart cities, digital transformation, transportation, financial inclusion, and cultural heritage preservation.
  4. Governance & Security
    E-government optimization, cybersecurity, disaster management, and transparency in public services.

Proposal Structure (Maximum: 5 Pages)

Each proposal must include the following sections:

  1. Title & Executive Summary – concise overview of the AI solution and its objectives.
  2. Problem Statement – description of the challenge and its relevance to the Arab region.
  3. Proposed AI Solution – technical methodology, innovation, and implementation plan.
  4. Regional Relevance – scalability, cultural sensitivity, and ethical considerations.
  5. Implementation Roadmap – milestones, timeline, resources, and success indicators.

Advancement: Top 2 researchers per country move to the Summit Finals


Evaluation Committee

1. National Scientific Councils

  • Oversee the first evaluation phase within each Arab country.
  • Minimum of three reviewers per application, specializing in AI, computer science, or relevant technical fields.
  • Nominate the top two national finalists.

2. International Expert Panel

  • Composed of AI specialists, senior researchers, and innovation leaders from Arab and international institutions.
  • Evaluate finalist proposals for originality, impact, and ethical compliance.

3. Industry and Policy Representatives

  • Include technology firms, incubators, and policy experts ensuring practical alignment with regional AI priorities.
  • Contribute to judging criteria related to feasibility, scalability, and sustainability.
